The Power of Camping Ministries
Converge Northwest believes that camping ministries are one of the most powerful and productive tools the church has for evangelism and disciplemaking. In a camping or retreat setting, children, youth, and adults can experience God's presence and power in awesome ways! While Converge Northwest churches utilize the resources of a number of camping and retreat settings, we are very grateful to God for the privilege of owning our own camping facilities. In 1946 we opened Lake Retreat, a beautiful, year round camping and retreat facility near Ravensdale, WA. In 1985 we launched our adventure camp, Camp Bighorn in Plains MT. That ministry has grown and Camp Bighorn is a branch of Bighorn Ministries and has a sister horse camp in Lone Ram Ranch.
Activities at the camps include swimming, high challenge elements and low ropes courses, whitewater rafting, rock climbing, hiking, In addition, we offer rappelling, sports fields and courts, newly rebuilt paint ball range, riflery, snowshoeing, kayaking and the list goes on. Incredible staffs are available at both camps to serve you and to help your camping or retreat experience to be all that God would have it to be.
